At Whitgift Sports Club, we also offer social memberships, giving members access to our bar facilities during the week and on weekends. For those with a passion for sports, we proudly host three dynamic sports clubs—cricket, rugby, and football—each with rich histories and inclusive environments. Here’s a glimpse into the vibrant sports scene at Whitgift:

Cricket – Old Whitgiftian Cricket Club (OWCC)

Founded in 1878, the Old Whitgiftian Cricket Club is steeped in tradition. What began as a club for former Whitgift School pupils has evolved into an inclusive environment for cricketers of all abilities. Senior cricket matches take place every Saturday and Sunday from April to September, and our 1st XI competes in the Surrey Championship Division 4. We also have a thriving Colts Cricket program, nurturing young talent with around 200 boys and girls aged 6 to 16. Spectators are always welcome, so come down and enjoy the action! Rugby – Old Whitgiftian Rugby Football Club (OWRFC)

Old Whitgiftian Rugby Football Club is a welcoming community that encourages players of all abilities to join. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, OWRFC has a place for you. The 1st XV competes in Surrey 1, while our 2nd XV (Wanderers) plays in Surrey Conference South. Matches are held on Saturday afternoons from September to April, with changing kick-off times depending on the season. The club also boasts a strong Junior Rugby section, with over 200 children aged 6 to 16 taking part every Sunday morning. Interested in playing or supporting? Visit our rugby section for more details.

Football – Old Whitgiftian Association Football Club (OWAFC)

Football at Whitgift Sports Club is full of energy and excitement. Our two teams compete in the Amateur Football Combination, with the 2nd XI recently winning their league. Matches take place on Saturdays between September and April, with training every Wednesday. We’re always looking for new players, so whether you’re an Old Whitgiftian or not, you’re welcome to join us.
